At Moscow-Mills, our engineers not only work closely with our customers to help develop, design and refine their components, but they are directly involved in the manufacturing as well. Our approach to engineering believes that engineers should know how to manufacture products, and our toolmakers should have a solid understanding of engineering. This complementary mix of disciplines brings together engineering and practical machining skills, to provide parts that are manufacturable, economical and will work as needed in our customers' products.
As part of our approach, each of our engineering and manufacturing employees has their own seat of SolidWorks. Every one of our state-of-the-art machining stations includes a high-end computer work station that is linked to our Enterprise PDM system allowing collaborative design and workflow. This system not only ensures that version control is always maintained and allows us to receive solid models directly from our customers and move the plans efficiently from station to station.
Because of their intimate knowledge of materials, machining and manufacturing processes, our engineers can draw upon specialized knowledge , skills and experience to create 'common sense' answers to complex manufacturing problems.
Moscow Mills and Vibration Solutions North use SolidWorks simulation technology extensively to ensure the quality and performance of our design before we commit to production. Comprehensive analysis tools let us test models digitally for valuable insight early in the design process. With the information we develop, we can easily determine methods to reduce weight and material costs, improve durability and manufacturability as well as compare design alternatives to best meet specific customer requirements.
